Your workspace, made for a smaller screen.

VECTA 0.16.1 keeps task setup in one row, puts waiting work ahead of charts and makes navigation easier on your phone.

v0.16.1 · Releases

What changed

  • Keep the project, AI/model and run settings together, with larger touch targets.
  • See tasks waiting for your decision before the optional project chart.
  • Open all connected computers from one compact summary; keep other sections in More.

0.16.1 · September 15

Project, AI/model and run settings stay in one visible row on a phone. Choose the model in its own menu; planning and the selected computer remain easy to check before starting.

Your draft stays in place when you open settings or More. Navigation keeps its four familiar actions, with keyboard access and reduced-motion support.

Open the project. See what needs you.

Back, the project title and the new-task plus share a compact header. Tasks waiting for your decision appear first; expand Activity when you want the chart and task filters.

On a phone, the task list now shows one summary of your connected computers. Tap it to open the full inventory, without a grid of computer cards taking space from the work.

Choose a connected computer and VECTA Auto for the task. The first-use explanation shows what is sent for model processing. Your approved VECTA account provides the connection; no separate provider API key is needed.

Ask for a plan, inspect project files, review an edit or approve a project command. Model processing is hosted; files and tools run on the selected computer. Continue in the same conversation when there is another step.

Auto and Cloud are different ways to work.

VECTA Auto connects a managed model to your project computer. That computer must stay online and have a working task sandbox. Available commands and browser tools depend on the connected computer.

VECTA Cloud runs a remote conversation and creates text/code files, directly from your browser. It does not upload your local repository or provide local shell and browser tools.

Less around the task. More room for the work.

Task actions sit in a compact dock, with execution details in a nearby popover. VECTA Auto uses the product icon, and task status stays distinct from the agent running it.

This beta has fair-use limits. Auto currently accepts text and project files; image attachments and switching an active task into or out of Auto are not supported. Review the available connection before starting.

The project overview now brings task states, a 14-day task-creation chart and recent work together. Choose a state to filter the task list; tasks waiting for your decision stay easy to find. Empty projects show a clear first step instead of empty charts.

Project context, connected locations and available agents share a compact layout. Cloud projects use a cloud-folder icon and keep new tasks on Cloud with the model set to Auto, so a local agent cannot accidentally replace remote execution.

Follow the work. Keep what is ready.

Cloud uses the familiar conversation, file activity and message reactions. Completed file actions appear as they happen, and the conversation refreshes while work continues.

If Cloud reaches its step limit, validated files from that turn stay available for the next message. The task still shows that it stopped before finishing, with a clear way to continue in chat. This protects new work; it cannot recover files already lost before this update.

The website now uses the current VECTA app icon, aligned project details and compact agent and OpenRouter cards. The connections explain which tools are available without filling the page with setup text.

A smaller screen should still feel like your workspace. Tasks, Projects and the plus button now stay in a stable navigation bar. More opens the other sections without squeezing every destination into the same row.

The task header combines its back action and essential controls. New-task suggestions take less space, while setup details stay in Task settings until you need them. Required setup remains visible when it is needed to continue.

More room for the details.

The reply area responds to changes in the visible viewport, helping it stay in reach when the keyboard opens. Your draft stays put as you open and close settings.

Project and agent details, long values, cards and forms fit narrow screens more clearly. Menus stay within the screen, touch targets are easier to reach, and task approvals and private files remain with the conversation.

Start in your browser. Keep going in the same conversation.

Pick VECTA Cloud as the place to run your task and leave the model on Auto. Ask a question, clarify the answer or build on the previous result. Cloud uses the conversation and available project files as context for the next message.

Files stay beside the conversation in a compact, closed panel. Open it to inspect, copy or download a result. If delivery is interrupted, your draft stays in place and a retry does not create a second message.

A shared beta, with clear boundaries.

Cloud is available to approved VECTA accounts with a small allowance. The first-use explanation makes remote execution explicit. Workspace permissions protect the conversation and its files; fair limits apply without turning the chat into a billing screen.

This beta handles conversations and text/code files. It does not automatically upload your local repository, run shell commands or operate a browser. Connect your own computer when your task needs those tools.

A small panel with the context you need.

Open Usage & limits at the bottom left. Task costs now come first: a title, project and provider beside each amount. Four tasks fit at a glance, with more one click away. Choose a row to return to the work.

Amounts cover the lifetime of each task. Budget percentages are labeled separately, and the total says how many tasks reported a cost. Missing data is not shown as zero. Subscription details expand when you need them; remaining allowances and stale-data warnings stay visible.

Know the connection. Recognize the model.

OpenRouter keeps its own connection icon, while known model authors use recognizable marks: OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, DeepSeek, Kimi and Qwen. Models beginning with ~ are hidden from the choices; existing tasks keep their saved selection.

These icons identify the model author, not the service routing the request. Unknown authors keep a neutral icon. A model introducing itself in an answer is still not proof of which model served the request.

Get back to the work.

A missing desktop session now leads to sign-in instead of looking like a VECTA outage. Signing out also works when the service cannot be reached. Task errors use a consistent recovery component, and relative times and model-change confirmations follow your language.

Links remain clickable inside bold text. On desktop, conversation links use the normal external-browser action, so opening an address does not depend on a popup.

The original 0.14 release added deployment guides for Layero, Vercel and Cloudflare Pages. When you explicitly ask to publish without choosing a host, pick a guide and review the next step before sending it to the agent. Layero uses a sign-in or registration link; anonymous hosting is not promised.

It also made Git review more reliable for linked dependency folders, kept inspection problems separate from completed work, introduced compact invitation controls and fixed returning to a previously selected model. Those improvements remain part of 0.14.1.

Open the updated workspace.

VECTA 0.16.1 is available in the web app for your approved account. Update VECTA on the computer that runs your project to use Auto with its local tools. All desktop downloads remain in your account.
